College students are vulnerable to different risk factors for sleep quality. When designing interventions to improve sleep quality among college students, the main determinants need to be taken into consideration.To examine the motivations, life circumstances and parenthood aspirations of a cohort of women who underwent planned oocyte cryopreservation (POC) at a Canadian academic IVF centre.
A single-site, cross-sectional, anonymous quantitative study using a study-specific questionnaire administrated via SurveyMonkey®. Of the 224 women who completed at least one POC cycle between 2012 and 2018, 198 were reached by email and invited to participate.
Of the 98 (49.5%) questionnaires returned, 86 were fully completed and were analysed. Mean age at first POC cycle was 35.7±2.4 (range 27-43) and at survey was 37.7±2.5 years. At POC, 77% were single and 97.7% childless. At survey, 96% had not attempted to use their cryopreserved oocytes, yet 26 (30%) had tried natural conception or fertility treatments. Of these, three conceived naturally and two by assisted reproduction. Eighty-five per cent expressed a strong motherhood desire and 67.1% indicated that usage of their cryopreserved oocytes was mostly contingent on relmore comprehensive picture of their oocyte utilization and disposition plans.To evaluate the effects of prepregnancy body mass index (BMI) on pregnancy outcomes, prevalence of urinary incontinence, and quality of life.
The observational cohort included 2210 pregnant women who were divided into 4 groups according to their prepregnancy BMI underweight (&lt;18.5), normal weight (18.5-24.9), overweight (25-29.9), and obese (?30). Data were analyzed for pregnancy outcomes, prevalence of urinary incontinence during pregnancy, scores of the Short Form 12 health survey (SF-12) and changes in sexual function.
Compared with normal weight, overweight and obesity were associated with advanced maternal age, low education level, multiparity, preterm delivery, cesarean section, gestational weight gain above the Institute of Medicine (IOM) guidelines, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, macrosomia and large fetal head circumference. After adjusting for confounding factors, women with overweight and obesity were more likely to have adverse maternal outcomes (gestational weight gain above the IOM guidelines, preeclampsia and gestational diabetes) and fetal outcomes (large fetal head circumference and macrosomia) compared to normal weight women. Overweight and obese women (BMI?25) were more likely to have urinary incontinence than normal weight and underweight women. There were no significant differences in SF-12 scores among the 4 BMI groups, but more than 90% of pregnant women had reduced or no sexual activities regardless of BMI.
Maternal prepregnancy overweight and obesity are associated with greater risks of preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, macrosomia and urinary incontinence. Health care providers should inform women to start their pregnancy at a BMI in the normal weight category.

ISTR5 (R5) was studied for polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) production on Kraft lignin (KL) and lignosulfonate (LS) as substrates. During the initial screening, the maximum PHA mass fraction in biomass produced on KL and LS was 23% and 18%, respectively, at 96 h. PHA production on KL was further optimized using the Box-Behnken Design (BBD) model of Response Surface Methodology (RSM). After optimization, a 42.5% increase in PHA production and a 32.2% increase in the total cell biomass was observed. PHA was characterized by GC-MS, TEM, FTIR, NMR, and fluorescence microscopy. Free amino acids in immobilized cells such as glutamate (Glu), arginine (Arg), proline (Pro) and leucine (Leu) were more sensitive to NH4+-N assimilation, as higher values observed by suspended cells. Nine healthy controls and 9 reconstruction subjects were recruited. Clinical and functional knee exams were administered. Lower limb co-contraction indices, time to peak ground reaction force, and muscle onset times were measured bilaterally. Differences in clinical and functional outcomes were assessed with unpaired t-tests, and mixed model repeated measures were used to examine effects of group, limb and interaction terms in electromyography measures.
89% of control knees were clinically "normal", whereas only 33% of reconstructed knees were "normal". Anterior cruciate ligament-reconstructed subjects tended to achieve shorter functional hop distances but demonstrated symmetrical lower limb electromyography measures that were no different from those of controls' with the exception that biceps femoris activation was delayed bilaterally prior to ground contact but was greater during the injury risk phase of landing.
